Reflecting on the first 3 weeks of Esol

I learned from the first 3 weeks in Esol is how do get the main idea in a short story. First, you need to pick keywords then you can write it down then you need to form 1 or 2 sentences using the keywords you got in the story. I think I need to focus on English Grammar because I'm not good to speak and write an English Grammar but I'll try my best to what we gonna do in Esol. I worried about to I don't know what we gonna do because if I call Mrs and I couldn't answer it I'm feeling worried and nervous. For the Spelling City list, I've encountered words that are series, valid, major, web, and involve.

READING RESPOND 1

Information about the text

Title of Book: Polynesian Dance Festival
Author: John Hart
Genre/Text Type:Narrative
Date Read: Feb. 19, 2020

One paragraph about the basic details of the text

This text was about Tongan Dance Group at Onehunga Primary School
I chose to read this text because I want to know how or what they do at Dance Group

One Paragraph about interesting details

One interesting/important character/event/theme/language feature was Taniela Teutau was the leader of the Tongan Dance Group
A quote/evidence that shows this is preparation and helped each other to prepare our performance.
This means that if you feel nervous when starting our performance, you will lose your nervousness.
This relates to me because when I’m performing or our presentation, I feel nervous but when I’m starting to perform my nervousness is gone.

A paragraph discussing links between the text and yourself, the world or other texts

I can relate to the main characters because I’m also nervous when so many people are watching you. But I’m doing well when we’re present.

The character Taniela Teutau was the leader of the Tongan Dance Group, which reminds me of only encouraging yourself when you present many people.

listing English learning goals for the year

My listing English learning goals for the year, I want to learn the English language little by little until I am fluent. I want to learn so that I can talk to others when I know the English language. For me, it is important to learn the English language because you can use it in any way like your communication with other people and future work, etc. The English language is my second language my first is Tagalog in the Philippines language. Sometimes I have nothing to say when other people talk to me use the English language. It's hard for me but I can learn the English language

When I came here to New Zealand, I changed my words a little bit because here in New Zealand use the English language so I'm trying hard to learn English languages and the accent. Hopefully, I learn the English language so I don't have to struggle. After 8 months of living in New Zealand, I am slowly learning the English language. So yeah, my listing English learning goals for the year is study and learn too.

BLOG POST EXEMPLAR

My Visual art course for this year will be focussed on Art Design. I decide to pick a design this year. Last year I do painting but I don't have a folio because I'm new here. I will change it this year because is a challenge for me but I enjoyed it because I was able to paint what I was thinking. My kaupapa for the year will be based upon feminism/social conscience. This is something that interests me because I like all of the artists here because they work so well.

For here, I have decided on, Luba Lukova, Max Huber, and Alexander Rodchenko as my artist models for my 2.1. These artists will also help me to get started with 2.2 which is going to start of my folio.

2.1

Luba Lukova                              Max Huber                                            Alexander Rodchenko
Artwork name: Brainwashing Artwork name: Nucleo quadrato   Artwork name: composition
Date it was made: 2010             Date it was made: 1980                   Date it was made: 1918
Media used: paintings                 Media used: painting                       Media used: printmaking

My kaupapa based on this theme is looking like this:

Theme: Environmental Protection
Ideas: Water pollution, cutting trees and air pollution

It is to show people that caring for our environment is worth it. That if we care about our environment it will give us back benefits. I'm going to show this by promoting it by poster, tags, and clothing. My own idea is to create something like a place that has plenty of trees and clear water.

MY ARTWORK NAME: Luba Lukova

A news item that interests me

A news item that interests me

The news is about the Taal volcano eruption in the Philippines. This volcano is a large caldera filled by Taal lake on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is in the province of Batangas. This volcano is the second most active volcano in the Philippines. The volcano erupting in Tagaytay on Wednesday 22nd January 2020.

The news is interesting to me because it's nice to see the volcano. It has a crater in the middle and attractive views of the Tagaytay area. Many people go to Tagaytay and to see the Taal volcano and it has been many years since the last volcanic eruption.

The impact of this news is that. Many people in the province of Batangas have been evacuated. When it exploded many people left their homes because of the ash. Since the volcanic eruption, various places have gone to help the victims of the volcanic eruption.

For me to evacuate immediately because the volcanic eruption is very dangerous, especially if you are near the volcano and are not afraid when things like volcanic eruptions occur.
